Representing Migration in Literature: Roberto Bolaños' The Savage Detectives

  • Este trabajo analiza la novela Los detectives salvajes de Roberto Bolaño (Premio Herralde de Novela y Premio Rómulo Gallegos) considerando diversos conceptos de la antropología de las migraciones tales como hibridez, extraterritorialidad, asimilación, redes comunitarias, transnacionalidad y capital cultural, entre otros. Los pasajes analizados se desarrollan en las ciudades de México DF, París y Barcelona.
  • This essay examines, from an anthropological perspective, the way in which Roberto Bolaño in his novel The Savage Detectives presents the migration experience. Selecting scenes that played out in Mexico DF, Paris and Barcelona as scenario, the present article analyses phenomenon such as hybridity, extraterritoriality, assimilation, networks, transnationality and cultural capital.
