Data for "Casimir interaction between a plane and a sphere: correction to the proximity-force approximation at intermediate temperatures" [Data set]

  • The data represented in figures 2 and 3 of the publication titled with "Casimir Interaction Between a Plane and a Sphere: Correction to the Proximity-Force Approximation at Intermediate Temperatures" are provided in the CSV file format. "fig2.csv" contains the data for figure 2. The first column and the third column contain x-values and y-values of the data points displayed in the figure, respectively. The second column contains the numerically exact results for the zero-frequency contribution to the Casimir free energy for TE polarization which are used to calculate the values of the third column. Since numerical results for zero and finite temperature enter the results displayed in figure 3, the corresponding data are separated into two files. "fig3_Tzero.csv" contains data for the exact Casimir energy (second column) and the corresponding value within the proximity-force approximation (PFA) (third column) at a given aspect ratio x=L/R (first column) at zeroThe data represented in figures 2 and 3 of the publication titled with "Casimir Interaction Between a Plane and a Sphere: Correction to the Proximity-Force Approximation at Intermediate Temperatures" are provided in the CSV file format. "fig3_Tfinite.csv" contains data for the Casimir free energy depending on the value of tau (first column) which represents a certain finite temperature. Columns 2, 4 and 6 represent the exact Casimir free energy, the corresponding PFA result and the values of Delta displayed in Fig. 3 (a), respectively. Columns 3, 5 and 7 show the same quantities but without the zero-frequency contribution. The values of Delta_n>0 given in column 7 are displayed in Fig. 3(b). All energies are given in Joule.show moreshow less
