Determination of reflective user engagement in argumentative dialogue systems

  • In this work we propose to our knowledge the first approach to determine the reflective user engagement (RUE) during an argumentative dialogue. Therefore, we review state-of-the-art literature definitions for reflective engagement (RE) and approaches to measure the latter. Given some basic characteristics the argumentative dialogue system has to provide, we derive a formula to determine the RE taking into account the argument structure and the respective current position at each state of the dialogue.
