• In diesem Beitrag wird ein diskurslinguistischer Ansatz vorgestellt, der zumeist als »Historische Diskurssemantik« bezeichnet wird. Als ein Bestandteil dieses Paradigmas geht es um eine Methode, mit der in einem großen Textkorpus zu einem Thema wiederkehrende Argumentationsmuster (Topoi) herausgearbeitet werden können. Diese werden im Rahmen eines hermeneutischen Vorgehens als Wissenssegmente eines Diskurses verstanden, die sich in einer bestimmten Konstellation (topologische Diskursformation) als hegemoniales Wissen durchsetzen oder als nur marginales Wissen einen Gegendiskurs auszeichnen. Am Beispiel der sprachlichen Konstruktion einer Wirtschafts-›Krise‹ Mitte der 1990er Jahre wird diese Methode abschließend vorgeführt.
• In this paper, we introduce the analysis of topoi as an approach of linguistic discourse analysis which is often called »Historische Diskurssemantik«. The employed method aims at identifying recurrent patterns of argumentation (topoi) in a large corpus of texts addressing a certain topic. These patterns are understood as segments of knowledge recognizable by means of a hermeneutic approach. It is asserted that particular segments of knowledge constitute hegemonial knowledge that appears as a certain constellation of topoi (topological formation of discourse). In contrast, other segments of knowledge remain rather marginal. Finally, using the example of the linguistic construction of an ›economic crisis‹ in the mid 1990’s, we show the analytic potential of this method.
