• Die Universität Augsburg baut im Rahmen der DFG-Förderinitiative "Leistungszentren für Forschungsinformation – Integriertes Informationsmanagement" ein IT-Servicezentrum (ITS) auf, das die IuK-Dienstleistungen für Forschung, Lehre, Studium und Verwaltung bündelt. Die Besonderheit der neuen Organisationsform besteht in einer engen Vernetzung der IuK-Kompetenz aus Universitätsbibliothek, Rechenzentrum, Videolabor und Verwaltung mit der praktischen Kompetenz der dezentralen IT-Service-Einheiten an den Fakultäten sowie der Informatik-Kompetenz der Wissenschaftler. Der Aufbau des ITS wird durch fünf Hauptprojekte begleitet. Die Teilprojekte in der Regie von Rechenzentrum und Universitätsbibliothek werden genauer beschrieben.
• Within the framework of the DFG-sponsored initiative "Performance centers for research information - Integrated information management" Augsburg University is setting up an IT service center which aims at gathering information and communication services for research, teaching, studies and administration. What distinguishes this new form of organisation is a close linking-up of the information and communication competence provided by the university library, the computer center, the video laboratory and the administration with the practical competence of the decentralised IT service units within the faculties and with the informatics competence of the academic staff. The setting up of the ITS is accompanied by five main projects. This article pays close attention to the subprojects under the guidance of the computer center and the university library.
