The EU taxonomy for sustainable activities

  • With the Taxonomy Regulation, the European Union has introduced a new classification system to promote sustainable development. To close financing gaps, it is oriented towards the (voluntary) mobilisation of private capital. However, the classification resulting from this legal structure can give rise to considerable controversy, as the example of nuclear energy shows.
